Tucked beneath Pikes Peak and surrounded by whispering pines and open skies, Woodland Park is a quiet invitation to slow down, reconnect, and wander. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful morning stroll or a more adventurous alpine climb, the trails here offer something for every pace and soul.

Here are some of our favorite hikes near Woodland Park—each one curated with rest, reflection, and reconnection in mind.

Catamount Falls Trail (via Green Mountain Falls)

Distance: ~3 miles roundtrip
Difficulty: Moderate
Trailhead: Green Mountain Falls, about 15 minutes from Woodland Park

A local favorite. This hike begins at the charming town of Green Mountain Falls and winds past creeks, wooden bridges, and evergreens before opening up to stunning views of Pikes Peak and the shimmering waters of Catamount Reservoir. Perfect for a peaceful morning or golden hour glow.

The Crags Trail

Distance: ~4.8 miles roundtrip
Difficulty: Moderate
Trailhead: Crags Campground, off CO-67

Tucked on the backside of Pikes Peak, The Crags is a must-see. This trail takes you through ancient granite formations and ends with wide-open views of Colorado’s rolling landscape. It’s quieter than the front range hikes, with a dreamy stillness you’ll carry home.

A more secluded option with panoramic views and pockets of forested quiet. This loop gives you a full range of scenery—open meadows, mountain backdrops, and wildflowers when the season is right. It’s ideal for those looking for something less traveled but deeply rewarding.
